Job DescriptionWe are collaborating with this organization to recruit an MEP Engineering Lead for the Havant Thicket Reservoir project. This key position will support the Engineering Manager in executing a major infrastructure initiative. The MEP Engineering Lead will be responsible for managing design reviews and addressing technical inquiries, ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual timelines. Additionally, the role will involve overseeing specific engineering work packages, serving as a technical resource for smaller project components, and ensuring the accuracy of contractor information. Engaging with various internal teams and stakeholders will be essential for achieving aligned solutions and contributing to the enhancement of engineering assurance systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate routine meetings with Design Guardians to strategically focus on upcoming project phases, address outstanding actions, and engage with ongoing design challenges to optimize communication and workflow.
- Direct responses to Technical Queries and Design Submissions from primary contractors, effectively coordinating stakeholder input and managing expectations throughout the process.
- Evaluate and monitor Design Guardian performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting regular reviews and offering constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Oversee general engineering inquiries from contractors, ensuring prompt and accurate communication.
- Engage in collaborative planning discussions with Main Works Contractors to develop a unified approach to project delivery.
- Lead weekly sessions with PW Operations to thoroughly discuss and resolve any outstanding queries or issues that may impact project progress.
- Organize and conduct technical workshops involving PW Operations, main works contractors, and the Design Guardian, ensuring alignment and commitment to proposed engineering solutions.
- Serve as the engineering representative during Early Warning meetings to promptly address issues and secure resolutions for subsequent discussions.
Requirements- Exceptional communication skills are essential for engaging diverse audiences, complemented by strong presentation abilities that leave a lasting impression.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, building relationships that foster collaborative project delivery.
- Deep understanding of the design process and its commercial implications, recognizing its strategic importance in achieving successful outcomes.
- A strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of delivering impactful presentations.
- Proven experience in orchestrating contributions from varied stakeholders to ensure coherent project execution.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining a focus on high-quality results.
- Advanced proficiency in software tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, equipping the candidate with the necessary technical expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in design management, showcasing the ability to lead and effectively oversee design initiatives.
