Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our client in Miami, FL. This role centers on building robust data platforms that empower analytics and data-driven decision making across manufacturing, hospitality, and food service operations. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and governance frameworks that enable reliable reporting, advanced analytics, and real-time insights. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex data needs into practical, scalable solutions. Responsibilities include constructing ETL/ELT processes, data quality monitoring, schema evolution, performance tuning, and ensuring data security and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in data architecture, mentoring teammates, and driving best practices across the data stack.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest, transform, and organize data from diverse sources.
- Build and maintain data models, warehouses, and data lakes to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Establish data quality metrics, monitoring, and lineage to ensure trust in the data product.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to translate business problems into data solutions.
- Define data governance policies, security controls, and access management in line with compliance requirements.
- Lead data architecture discussions and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
Requirements- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, or similar).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data warehousing concepts (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Strong programming skills (Python, Scala, or Java) for data processing tasks.
- Exposure to container orchestration and modern data tooling (Kubernetes, Airflow, dbt, etc.).
- You should understand data governance, metadata management, and security considerations (principles, and controls).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
