Job DescriptionIn this mature, long-form engagement, the Cyber Security Analyst will operate within a distributed, remote-friendly environment, focusing on robust incident detection, thorough investigations, and decisive response under the guidance of a managed security services framework. The role contributes to ongoing enhancements in monitoring, threat visibility, and incident handling—driven by measurable improvements in security operations maturity.
Key Responsibilities- Detect, investigate, and coordinate timely response to security events in collaboration with an external MSSP
- Perform Level 2 analysis, escalate to senior engineers when warranted, and document findings
- Support formal incident response activities, root cause assessments, and post-incident reviews
- Tune detections, refine alerting logic, and nurture security monitoring capabilities
- Maintain cross-site awareness and alignment for distributed teams and remote colleagues
Requirements- Experience as a SOC Analyst or Cyber Security Analyst at Level 2 equivalent within a large-scale security operation
- Proven background in enterprise security operations and SOC workflows
- Experience managing or partnering with an MSSP in a regulated, multi-site environment
- Strong investigative mindset with solid analytical capabilities
- Resilience to moderate alert volumes and bias toward action to reduce fatigue
- Ability to operate autonomously within a globally dispersed, time-zone-spread team
