Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our client’s development team in Warwick, UK. This role centers on designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality software used to modernize energy and utility operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure code quality through reviews and testing.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and implement scalable services and APIs that enable real-time energy data processing.
- Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in software development.
- Contribute to system design discussions and drive technical decision-making with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and data teams to align software delivery with business needs.
- Ensure secure coding standards and compliance with relevant regulations in the energy sector.
Requirements- Extensive experience in modern software development with a strong background in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, C#, Python)
- Proven expertise in designing and building scalable, reliable services and APIs
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of software design principles, data modeling, and API design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and monitoring/observability tools
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
