Job DescriptionThe Senior Manager of Sourcing is an integral leader within the supply chain, responsible for crafting the sourcing strategy, nurturing supplier relationships, and executing procurement initiatives focused on quality and cost-effectiveness. This role encompasses the complete sourcing process, which includes vendor identification, negotiation, ensuring continuity of supply, and upholding vendor accountability. Candidates should showcase a balance of strategic insight, operational execution, and adept relationship management to optimize the supplier base and align with the organization's long-term objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Collaborate closely with Planning and Merchandising teams to ensure that the capabilities of vendors adequately meet the projected demand and the specific needs of the product lifecycle.
Continuously monitor supply market trends and proactively identify alternative sources or risk mitigation strategies, thereby ensuring uninterrupted business continuity.
Drive substantial improvements in the global supply chain by comprehensively assessing the total cost of ownership and optimizing inbound logistics when necessary.
Manage the complete lifecycle of vendor relationships—from initial onboarding and capability assessments to ongoing performance evaluations and compliance monitoring.
Engage robustly with vendors to identify opportunities for product innovation, cost savings, and enhancements to existing processes.
Lead negotiations for contracts, conduct RFQs/RFPs, and manage competitive bidding processes to secure industry-leading cost structures and service levels.
Ensure alignment between cost proposals and the organization’s product margin goals and financial plans.
Meticulously track cost trends, tariffs, and raw material inputs to enable timely and proactive responses to evolving market dynamics.
Work in close partnership with Finance, Legal, Quality, and Merchandising teams to ensure that sourcing decisions are aligned with broader company objectives.
Support new product development and seasonal programs by ensuring the timely sourcing of high-quality materials that align with the design intent and quality standards.
Engage in vendor scorecarding and strategic reviews alongside Planning and Inventory teams to ensure consistent performance evaluation.
Utilize advanced sourcing platforms and ERP systems to effectively manage supplier data, contracts, and performance metrics.
Maintain rigorous compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and any pertinent trade regulations.
Prepare detailed executive-level reports showcasing sourcing performance, vendor risk analysis, and quantified cost savings to inform strategic decision-making.
RequirementsProven background in sourcing or supply chain management within the international jewelry or diamond industry
Experience with global sourcing and understanding of international trade, logistics, and compliance
Proficiency with sourcing platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
