Job DescriptionThe QAD ERP Specialist will manage and improve the QAD environment supporting a sophisticated financial services organisation in New York City. The role will translate business requirements into practical ERP solutions, coordinate system enhancements, and ensure that the platform remains stable, controlled, and aligned with evolving operational priorities.
Success will involve strengthening day-to-day system performance, improving workflows and reporting, and providing dependable support to finance and business stakeholders. This position requires a hands-on specialist who can investigate issues, manage priorities, coordinate external providers where needed, and turn ERP capability into measurable process improvement.
Working across technical and functional areas, the specialist will help maintain data quality, support releases and integrations, document processes, and contribute to longer-term QAD optimisation. The role offers broad visibility across the organisation and the opportunity to shape how enterprise technology supports investment and portfolio-management activities.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support the QAD ERP environment across core finance and business processes.
- Assess stakeholder needs and convert requirements into clearly defined system improvements.
- Configure, test, and implement enhancements while protecting system stability and data integrity.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and deliver timely resolutions for users.
- Coordinate integrations, interfaces, upgrades, releases, and related technical activities.
- Partner with finance, operations, investment, and leadership stakeholders to prioritise the ERP roadmap.
- Monitor system performance, access controls, data quality, and compliance-related requirements.
- Maintain functional specifications, configuration records, process maps, and user documentation.
- Plan and execute user acceptance testing, regression testing, and post-release validation.
- Manage relationships with QAD consultants, support vendors, and other technology partners.
- Provide guidance, training, and practical support to users across the organisation.
- Recommend process improvements that reduce manual work, improve reporting, and strengthen operational control.
Requirements- Substantial experience administering, supporting, or delivering solutions within a QAD ERP environment.
- Strong understanding of ERP functionality across finance, accounting, reporting, or related business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead configuration, enhancement, testing, and release activities.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and resolving complex functional or technical problems.
- Practical knowledge of ERP integrations, interfaces, data flows, and system dependencies.
- Background gathering requirements and translating business needs into workable technology solutions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining disciplined change and documentation practices.
- Experience working with external implementation, support, or managed-service providers.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to explain technical subjects clearly.
- Comfort operating independently in a high-accountability financial services environment.
- Sound awareness of access management, data governance, controls, and audit-ready documentation.
- Experience supporting venture capital, private equity, asset management, or another controlled financial environment is advantageous.
- Relevant degree, professional training, or equivalent practical experience in ERP, information systems, finance, or technology.
Benefits- Meaningful ownership of a business-critical QAD platform supporting investment and financial operations.
- Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence enterprise-system priorities.
- Broad scope spanning ERP administration, process improvement, reporting, integrations, and user enablement.
- Opportunity to build deeper expertise at the intersection of enterprise technology and alternative investments.
- Visibility into how reliable systems and controls support portfolio oversight and organisational growth.
- New York City location offering a central base within a commercially focused financial-services environment.
- Potential to deliver measurable improvements in data quality, operational efficiency, and decision support.
OtherThe position is based in New York City and suits a QAD professional who combines detailed system knowledge with sound commercial judgement. Candidates should be comfortable working with ambiguity, establishing structure, and communicating confidently with both technical colleagues and senior business users.
Experience in venture capital, private equity, asset management, or a similarly controlled financial setting will be valued, although strong transferable ERP expertise will also be considered. The successful individual will bring ownership, curiosity, and a practical focus on making systems easier to use, more reliable, and better aligned with business goals.
