Operating across multiple brands, this organisation supports large-scale food production through dependable product quality, disciplined manufacturing processes and commercially focused operations.
Technology plays an important role in connecting business functions, production activity and enterprise systems. The organisation is continuing to strengthen its digital capability so that applications and integrations provide clearer information, smoother processes and stronger support for future growth.
Job DescriptionThe Full Stack Developer will help design, build and maintain applications that support a broad ERP and technology transformation programme. Working across front-end and back-end development, the role will translate operational requirements into dependable solutions while ensuring that new applications connect effectively with Microsoft platforms, D365 and established business systems.
Success will involve delivering maintainable software, improving system connectivity and helping users gain greater value from the organisation’s technology landscape. Based in Preston, the position is suited to a developer who can combine hands-on engineering with a practical understanding of integrations, legacy environments and the needs of a complex manufacturing business.
The role offers scope to influence custom application development, contribute to architectural decisions and support the transition towards more connected enterprise processes. Regular collaboration with technical colleagues, business stakeholders and external partners will be essential to delivering secure, scalable and commercially relevant outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and enhance full stack applications that address business and operational requirements.
- Build, maintain and troubleshoot integrations involving Microsoft technologies and D365.
- Connect modern applications with legacy platforms while protecting data accuracy and process continuity.
- Contribute to the delivery of the wider ERP and digital transformation roadmap.
- Develop clean, testable and maintainable code across appropriate front-end and back-end technologies.
- Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, assess technical options and define practical solutions.
- Investigate defects, resolve integration issues and improve application performance and reliability.
- Produce technical documentation and support effective knowledge transfer across the development environment.
Requirements- Demonstrable professional experience delivering full stack software solutions.
- Strong capability across relevant Microsoft development technologies and enterprise application environments.
- Practical experience designing, implementing or supporting D365 integrations.
- Hands-on knowledge of MuleSoft or comparable integration platforms.
- Experience creating bespoke applications from business requirements through to deployment and support.
- Understanding of APIs, data flows, integration patterns and connectivity between modern and legacy systems.
- Ability to write structured, maintainable code and apply sound testing and troubleshooting practices.
- Clear communication skills, with the confidence to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits- Work on a high-impact ERP and transformation programme supporting a recognised food manufacturing operation.
- Gain broad exposure to full stack engineering, D365, MuleSoft, Microsoft technologies and legacy system integration.
- Influence the development of custom applications that improve business processes across multiple brands and functions.
- Operate in a role with meaningful ownership of solution quality, system connectivity and technical delivery.
- Build experience within a long-established organisation with complex operational and enterprise requirements.
- Benefit from a professional working environment in Preston with scope for approximately two days onsite each week.
- Receive a competitive package aligned with the responsibilities and technical contribution expected from the role.
OtherThis opportunity is based in Preston, England, with an expectation of approximately two days onsite each week. The successful candidate will bring a delivery-focused approach, sound engineering judgement and the adaptability needed to work across evolving platforms and established systems.
Applications are encouraged from developers who can demonstrate strong integration experience and a genuine interest in using technology to improve how a manufacturing business operates. Experience across the full Microsoft ecosystem is valuable, while the ability to learn, communicate clearly and deliver practical outcomes will be equally important.
