The Forward Deployed Engineer converts demanding customer problems into reliable, production-ready software and operational improvements. Working from San Francisco, you will move between hands-on engineering, customer discovery, technical delivery, and product feedback, taking ownership from an ambiguous initial need through implementation and measurable adoption.

• Build, test, deploy, and maintain product capabilities that address complex medical billing workflows and customer requirements.
• Work directly with healthcare operators, subject-matter experts, end users, and senior stakeholders to understand constraints, priorities, and desired outcomes.
• Turn loosely defined challenges into structured requirements, technical designs, implementation plans, and delivery milestones.
• Lead technical work for customer launches, including integrations, workflow configuration, data movement, troubleshooting, and production rollout support.
• Investigate defects and platform issues, identify root causes, and deliver durable fixes rather than temporary workarounds.
• Use customer feedback and operational evidence to recommend product enhancements, workflow improvements, and roadmap priorities.
• Coordinate with product, sales, support, and engineering partners to manage expectations and keep complex initiatives moving.
• Explain trade-offs, risks, timelines, and technical decisions in language appropriate for both engineering audiences and business leaders.

• Bring at least five years of professional software engineering experience, with a record of delivering production systems or significant product capabilities.
• Demonstrate strong computer science fundamentals and practical proficiency in designing, implementing, testing, and debugging software.
• Show confidence working directly with customers or other external stakeholders on technical discovery, implementation, or operational problem-solving.
• Translate uncertainty into clear priorities, actionable specifications, sensible sequencing, and credible delivery commitments.
• Communicate complex technical subjects with precision to engineers, operators, executives, and other non-technical audiences.
• Exercise sound judgement when balancing customer urgency, product consistency, engineering quality, and long-term maintainability.
• Operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and ownership extends beyond narrowly defined tickets.
