Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are collaborating with this organization to find a seasoned Director of Infrastructure Operations & Reliability based in Tempe, Arizona. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of a comprehensive infrastructure and operations program tailored for North America. The successful candidate will work closely with global technology teams and key service partners to formulate strategic initiatives that align with business objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and mentor a diverse team focused on infrastructure operations across North America, coordinating with managed service providers to implement and uphold technology standards related to hosting, networking, and data center infrastructure.
- Create and foster strategic partnerships with stakeholders throughout the organization to gain a deep understanding of their requirements and propose effective technology solutions.
- Work in conjunction with cybersecurity teams to ensure that infrastructure frameworks comply with security standards and adapt to evolving requirements and best practices.
- Oversee initiatives related to cloud migration while integrating DevOps practices and observability tools to enhance application delivery and monitoring.
- Establish and implement best practices for observability to effectively track the performance of application and infrastructure services.
- Collaborate closely with the Operational Resiliency team to develop and enforce disaster recovery protocols that protect business operations during emergencies.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that evaluate operational maturity and customer satisfaction, simultaneously increasing visibility into infrastructure's contributions.
- Dedicating effort to professional development and team leadership, while steering initiatives that enhance performance and nurturing a high-performing workplace culture.
Requirements- At least 10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure and operations management within globally distributed systems.
- Proven capability to assess operational needs, demonstrate initiative, and prioritize tasks effectively while balancing daily management with strategic security objectives.
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing key performance indicators and metrics to promote operational excellence.
- Exceptional planning skills with a focus on risk management coupled with effective execution.
- Proficient in balancing the demands of new initiatives against ongoing operations and engineering activities.
- Aptitude for cultivating trust and establishing robust working relationships with team members and external partners.
- Extensive experience in leading teams and managing service providers successfully.
- Thorough understanding of best practices in infrastructure operations and reliability in high-demand service contexts.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships pertaining to infrastructure services, including contract review and compliance.
- Familiarity with cloud migration processes and DevOps methodologies.
- Skilled in crafting and executing strategic roadmaps while addressing both immediate and tactical priorities.
