Senior Software Engineer (Ref: 188617)

We’re a specialist recruitment firm partnering with one of the fastest-growing early-stage fintechs in the US. Our client is on a mission to empower America’s small businesses – from community pharmacies to independent auto dealers – with financial software that rivals what large enterprises use.

With a team of around 10, they’ve already built a nationwide presence, serving customers across all 50 states. Backed by top investors and led by proven founders, they’re scaling fast and looking for elite engineers who want to make their mark.

We’re searching for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to build high-impact product from the ground up. This is a hands-on, fullstack engineering role where you’ll help shape the company’s tech, culture, and customer outcomes. You’ll work closely with the founders, ship features quickly, and obsess over user problems.

This is not a typical 9-5. Our client works hard – just like their SMB customers – and they’re looking for engineers who thrive in a high-ownership, high-output environment.

·       Build, test, deploy, and operate software across the full stack

·       Engage with internal teams and customers to identify technical solutions to real-world SMB finance problems

·       Own end-to-end architecture and development of major product initiatives

·       Design scalable systems, schemas, and workflows

·       Help improve engineering processes, tools, and team culture

·       Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and team development as the company scales

Experience & Background

·       Circa 3-7 years of fullstack engineering experience

·       Proven track record at early-stage startups, top-tier tech companies, or high-performance quant funds

·       Experience shipping 0-1 products and building systems end-to-end

·       Multiple SWE internships during undergrad

·       Has earned promotions, fast-tracked growth, or return offers from top internships

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a top 25 university with GPA > 3.8

Tech Stack

·       JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express

·       GCP

·       Strong experience designing SQL database schemas

Soft Skills & Traits

·       Able to clearly articulate motivations and learnings from career moves

·       Intellectually curious, driven, and highly accountable

·       Willing to work hard – this team regularly works 60+ hour weeks

·       Comfortable working 100% on-site in NYC
