Job description
The client I am working alongside are disrupting the payments sector through the delivery of custom payment solutions across e-commerce and in-store channels worldwide, using our accredited network of strategic partners to provide businesses of all sizes with a fully integrated omnichannel software solution.
Reporting into the Head of Development you'll work across our stack whilst collaborating closely with the Chief Product Officer and Customer Support team as well as a undertake crucial mentoring of our existing developers to enhance their individual contribution and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
&#$2022; Support the organisation of the backlog and sprint planning alongside other team members, senior leadership and key customer stakeholders.
&#$2022; Work alongside the Product Office and development team to architect effective solutions to complex problems.
&#$2022; Work with internal teams to gather requirements, write functional specification documents and support the implementation of these, accurately and efficiently.
&#$2022; Ensure all code is always written to an exceptionally high standard.
&#$2022; Support the delivery of business wide training, where needed, on newly developed products/features.
&#$2022; Build and manage relationships with internal teams, always ensuring visibility across the business.
Experience
&#$2022; Proven experience (3+ years) in full stack PHP development (MVC framework such as Laravel or similar)
&#$2022; Prior experience developing applications using PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
&#$2022; Experience with JS frontend frameworks such as VueJs, ReactJS would be beneficial
&#$2022; Experience of SQL would be a significant advantage but not essential
&#$2022; Proven experience of mentoring and developing colleagues
&#$2022; An appetite for learning. We're on a mission to migrate to Golang and you'll key player in that
&#$2022; Solid experience working with APIs and managing large volumes of data
&#$2022; Demonstrable knowledge of building solutions capable of large transaction volumes
&#$2022; Comfortable with demoing updates to the wider team and/or the wider business as required
&#$2022; Knowledge in Google Computing Services (GCP) or other Cloud hosting infrastructure
&#$2022; Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, GitHub
&#$2022; Excellent communication Skills
&#$2022; A background within Fintech will be a significant advantage but not essential
&#$2022; Authorisation to work within the UK and based within commuting distance to the office (we will not be sponsoring a visa or providing a relocation package for this role)
Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
&#$2022; Bachelor's degree (Science Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred)
&#$2022; Development experience within Fintech will be an advantage but not essential.
