Job Description

Title: Group Financial Controller
Location: Nottingham
Salary:  Circa £90k
Contact:  –
Brief Overview:
Forsyth Barnes is currently engaged in a search for a Group Financial Controller for a Private Equity owned business based in Nottingham. You will work for a CFO and be responsible for a large multi-site finance team. The role will cover all aspects of managing a large finance function, and would be the ideal step for someone who is looking to make the transition into a Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer role within the next few years.
The organisation has a turnover in excess of £100m a year and is very profitable, with a mixture of service and manufacturing divisions. With a global footprint the business has legal entities in multiple countries but remains a UK headquartered business with the HQ firmly established in Nottingham. Having received external funding the business is expanding heavily and as such wants a GFC that is seeking a challenging role in a business that is growing extensively.
Management of a large finance function
Group financial reporting
Overseeing monthly, quarterly management accounts production
Lead the year-end statutory accounts production for UK and US entities
Support with an exit process of the business (long-term)
Review and improve financial controls and processes
Prepare cash-flow forecasts and budgets
Responsibility for tax and treasury functions

Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate for the role will likely be a Qualified Accountant with extensive team management experience. Private Equity experience is desirable, but more importantly you would have worked in a multi-currency, multi-site environment. The organisation is service based with a small manufacturing arm, so industry experience is not a key requirement. What is important to the business is someone who can commit to them in the long-term through the next investment cycle so you will have shown good tenure throughout your career.
Due to the need for a handover with an incumbent, it is essential someone can start this role before the end of the year.
