Founded in 2001 with a focus on representing brands in sports, our clients provide a full-service marketing approach, including sponsorship consulting, media planning and buying, creative production and design, experiential marketing, hospitality, public relations, social media and data & insights.Priding themselves on delivering award-winning business-building marketing, strategic consulting and media programs for clients that are widely recognized throughout the global sports industry puts them head and shoulders above their competitors.Forsyth Barnes are seeking a VP of Global Business Development to join their growing sports marketing agency in their London office. In this role, reporting to the Global Head of Business Development based in the USA, you will be responsible for leading the development of their UK and European business through the acquisition of new clients.The European business manages blue chip clients including Rolex, Gallagher, Hyundai, NetApp, Komatsu, J. Lindeberg, and AWS.You Will:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a 1-3-year business development strategy aligned with the agency's goals
- Client Acquisition: Identify, pursue, and secure new clients through networking, pitching, and contract negotiation
- Relationship Management: Use your network of Senior Marketing Director and C-suite industry contacts to generate meetings with prospective clients, turning meetings into RFPs and on-boarding new clients
- Performance and Sales Targets: Achieve seven-figure annual sales targets in alignment with goals set by the Global Head of Business Development
- Internal Collaboration: Work with creative and strategy teams to develop tailored solutions for potential clients
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify new business opportunities
- Brand Positioning: Represent the agency at industry events and contribute to thought leadership
- Performance Tracking: Set KPIs including measurable revenue targets and milestones
- Innovation: Drive new approaches in business development and explore growth opportunities
- Risk Management: Assess risks in new business ventures and develop mitigation strategies
You Have:- 10+ years of business experience, including a proven track record of leading business development for a sports marketing agency and/or professional sports team or league
- A significant industry network of senior, marketing director and C-Suite industry contacts to generate meetings with prospective clients, turning meetings into RFP and closed deals
- A deep understanding of the business of sports marketing
- Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills, proven record of closing major sponsorship deals
